Mystopia Game — Mystery, puzzle and deduction games | mystopiagame.com
Which mystery games fit two, four or six players — and how many minutes each one actually takes.
Start with the chair count. Exit: The Game seats 1-4, so it fits a pair, a four, and nothing larger. Codenames starts at four and stretches to eight. Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective covers 1-8, and murder-mystery dinner kits only switch on at 6-12 guests.
Then the clock. Codenames clears its 25-card grid in about 15 minutes. Exit runs about 60. A Cluedo round sits in the 40-60 minute band. Consulting Detective needs 90-120 minutes per case, and a dinner kit takes the whole 2-3 hours from introduction to reveal.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Difficulty is the third filter. Exit boxes are rated 1 to 5; a table of beginners should open at 1-2. Commercial escape rooms, the benchmark for the genre, tune for a 30-50% win rate with 3-5 hints allowed — that is the feeling a well-chosen box reproduces at home.
For exactly four players the short list is: Exit (exact fit), Codenames (its minimum size), Cluedo (mid-range) and Consulting Detective (comfortable). The dinner kit stays on the shelf until the guest list doubles.
Once the game is chosen, the home escape-room page shows how to run a 60-minute session with a timer and hint breaks, and the first game night page turns the picks into a two-to-three-hour schedule.
